Hibernia - Privacy Policy

Effective date: 1 September 2026
Developer: Sweet Town Studios (Marek Kubiak)
Contact: privacy@sweettownstudios.com

The short version

Hibernia is designed to respect your privacy. We do not require an account to play, and we do not collect your location. The whole game is playable without ever signing in to anything.

Three things are entirely your choice. Two are off unless you turn them on: sending us anonymous gameplay statistics so we can balance and improve the game, and allowing the optional rewarded ads to be personalized (the only thing that involves an advertising identifier - on iOS additionally gated by Apple's own permission prompt). The third is cloud save: you are asked once, when you first play, whether to back your progress up to an account or to stay local only. If - and only if - you choose to sign in, we receive the email address attached to that sign-in (see "Cloud saves" below). You can change any of the three at any time in Settings.

This policy applies to Hibernia on every platform we ship it on.

What we collect

Only if you opt in (the setting is off by default), the game sends anonymous gameplay data:

This data is tied only to a random identifier created on your device. It is not linked to you, your Apple ID, your name, or any advertising identifier.

What we do NOT collect

Why we collect it

Solely to understand how the game is played and to balance and improve it (for example, whether parts of the game are too hard, too slow, or too easy). We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising or profiling.

Your choices

Data sharing, storage, and retention

Cloud saves

Cloud save exists so your progress can survive a reinstall and follow you to another device. It is your choice, made the first time you play, and it works the same way on iOS and Android, using Firebase (a Google service).

You are offered three ways to sign in - Sign in with Apple, Google, or an email address and password - and a fourth option, Local only, which switches cloud save off entirely. Choosing "Local only" means no account is created, nothing about you is sent to Firebase, and your save stays on your device. The game is fully playable this way.

If you do sign in, this is what we receive and store:

We do not receive your password: with Apple and Google, authentication happens with them and we only ever see the result. Firebase/Google processes all of this on our behalf, governed by Google's privacy policy in addition to this one. We do not sell it, share it, or use it for advertising.

You can switch cloud save off, change which account it uses, or delete your cloud save entirely at any time in Settings ▸ Cloud Save. To have the account record itself erased as well, email privacy@sweettownstudios.com.

Children

Hibernia is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. The gameplay statistics we collect are anonymous and are never associated with a child's identity. Cloud save requires signing in with an Apple, Google, or email account, which those providers already age-restrict. If you believe a child has signed in and you would like the account and its saved game removed, email privacy@sweettownstudios.com and we will delete it.
